I am fascinated by light. Light is core to the visual arts, yet is often only expressed in specific ways. Through my art, I hope to better understand and appreciate the beauty of light through unorthodox mediums. Light is always changing, creating new meaning. To that end, I hope to evolve new meaning in my work through changing light: showing how a little bit of well placed light can utterly change the perspective of the observer, or better yet, the participant.
I am an engineer. I love to design, build, and create things that accomplish real goals. I see art as the flipside of that coin. Just as I think some things should be built for concrete reasons, I believe they should be built for superfluous ones too. I love to make art simply to make it, to let go, and to benefit others in a far less tangible way than I would with engineering. I am an artist.
